3 questions
Three's my favorite number. It all works out.
So...got this from Majo's LJ. A little activity to pass the time.^^ So what you're supposed to do is ask me 3 questions. Any 3 questions, and I'll answer them. I'm supposed to answer any question you ask, so feel free to just ask away.^^ Then you're supposed to post this on YOUR blog/LJ/xanga/what-have-you and let everyone else (including yours truly) ask 3 questions.
Yeah. And btw, today is Friday and I have 70 or so bucks to deposit and piccies I really want to finish. And stories I really want to write. And I'm gonna make hot dog, onion, and ketchup fried rice for dinner tonight. XD
In case that wasn't random enough: HAPPY EARTH DAY + ONE!!!

Busted...
...elbow. Owie.^^;
Er, in other news...Japanese oral exam tomorrow but I can't find the guideline sheet, which is utterly bewildering because I couldn't find the written exam topic sheet either, and I like, never miss class. Where could those darned sheets have gone?
And speaking of Japanese...-_- I'm irritated because I made a really DUMB mistake that I wouldn't have made if I'd just been awake enough to study more. So here's my mistake, all detailed out for you guys, since I know you don't want to know:
Yu-san wa manga o kaku sou desu. = I hear that Miss Yu draws manga.
Yu-san wa manga o kakisou desu. = It seems as if Miss Yu draws manga.
We're being tested on the second grammar point...and of course I wrote the first. I KNEW it was wrong, but I couldn't for the life of me remember how I was supposed to conjugate. Major GRR-ness!
But that's kind of a blah note to end on, so I'll also mention that the residential houses in Hamilton Square hosted this big picnic today, and I totally gorged myself on egg salad sandwiches and roasted veggie sandwiches and pasta salad and 2 brownies. XD It totally rocked. Free food is like, spiritually uplifting.
...except now I'm really tired and I still need to do work.^^; Tea is my friend, since coffee isn't.

Death
I've reached my expiration date. But like how cheese can stay edible for a little while longer if it's kept in the fridge, I might be able to last until two weeks from now, when my finals are finished. Except I don't have a fridge for my brain...!;_;
I worked all weekend long, tabulating data for my animal behavior field course. Then I worked all Monday (straight on into Tuesday minus that sleeping stuff you do in between) to write my second paper for the same. I am ready to never talk about another cowbird robot probe EVER again, especially seeing as I made an idiot of myself in the presentation.<_< ("....yes, I believe that's it, and now Lynzy will talk about the me--oh no, wait, the hypothesis!!!")
Lack of sleep is not an excuse.^^;
Anyway, been having tummy aches, probably because of totally messed up eating schedule and late night ice cream snacks. Been buying chicken sandwiches from Chick-a-fil a lot recently (well, last Friday, this Monday, this Tuesday) because those things are amazingly good and on-the-way. Plus I ran out of bread for my usual sandwich lunches (should really go shopping. No fruit...;_;).
Art-wise...drew another Sesshoumaru and Rin pic (this time Jaken's in it too!), plus an utterly horrible butt-ugly attempt at Nemesis. Man, it was scary. Never scanning that one if I can help it.
Story-wise...lots of interesting, interesting stuff popping up recently (not actually written though, of course). Majo and I had the neatest conversation yesterday on Inuyasha's and Sesshoumaru's swords. :D In the forum I joined, there's been lots of discussions on love, and it got me ruminating on the IY series and its general themes. The series is primarily a romantic series, hence all the main characters are in romantic relationships, but I've noticed that IY is secondarily a familial series.
*Uh oh. Rant start* An overwhelmingly large amount of side-characters who pop up in the story are involved in families. The arc with Shiori (the bat hanyou) put most emphasis on her father's love for her--at the end, daddy's spirit comes and pats her on the head, but we don't see a panel of him doing anything to his wife. I'm not saying he doesn't love her deeply, but the fact that Takahashi-sensei doesn't SHOW us any displays of affection implies to me that she wants us to focus on the family aspect of it, the paternal love for one's daughter. A similar thing, except more obvious, happens with the Kanta arc. And if you want to go REALLY early, you can take a look at Hiten...who's a big evil youkai, but when his younger brother died, he was absolutely devastated. Other family hints include Inu-papa, whose person we never see but whose presence and influence is obvious, Sango's relationship with Kokaku... That little girl (early on) who died in a fire but couldn't move on because she thought her mother didn't like her... Shippou's love for his own father... (A note on Kouga: he's also a side-character, and at first glance it seems like he's motivated by romance too...but is he really? What truly motivates him in his search for Naraku? It's not Kagome, it's the death of his clan. It's obvious Kouga cares for Kagome, but it's really more of a sweet infatuation/crush, rather than true love...the way Inuyasha feels for Kagome. The strongest argument for this is the fact that Kouga doesn't really spend that much time with Kagome. He doesn't know her. How then, can he really love her in the form we all mean?)
There's more but I can't think of any right now. The point is, Takahashi-sensei is trying to show more than one type of relationship. She's already beating us over the head with romance from the 4 major characters, she doesn't need to add a whole slew of romantic relationships in the side characters to show us how wonderful it is. We get it. So instead she focuses on a completely different dynamic: that of family. Thus, it makes a lot of sense to me that Sesshoumaru and Rin (and Jaken!XD) represent a family. As much as Sess-fans hate to admit it, he's NOT a major character. But he acts as a foil to Inuyasha and it's logical therefore, that his relationship would be non-romantic (since IY's ALL about romance), so we can see how each brother changes in response to the different yet equally powerful bonds they form.
*Whew. Rant end. You can come back now* I'm gonna go wash some dishes, and then hanker down to do work now.^^; I'm really behind on genetics and physics (and both finals are next week@_@) because of animal behavior, which ate my life and sucked all my energy out. It's why I'm ranting about Inuyasha instead of doing other, school-related stuff.
And...Oh, Alice, if you're reading this (did you make it this far?^_~), I got all your e-cards and I even went to the various websites and sent out the letters.^_^ Great causes.^^ (Did you ever sign the one protesting the current "revised" energy bill?) Thanks for the messages, and sorry I'm so slow in acknowledging them.^^; I AM obsessed with anime, it's sadly obvious from my posts, as you've noticed.^^ Nice to know that you're reading these inane rambles. :)
...5 smiles for 6 sentences. I'm just all smiles today.
And a final note: I still love my rings!XD
