My daily dosage of cute
I visited the big playground in our town today, the one our high school Key Club had a hand in building (I helped build a playground! XD), half out of a desire to exercise and half out of a desire to just be a really big kid and run around. Of course I never would have gone if mom hadn't asked me if I wanted to go watch my kid brother (the youngest one, at 5) play soccer. I didn't really, but it reminded me of the playground, and the playground had appeal.^_^;
Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one who wanted to jump around.^^; Two busloads of preschoolers were there on a "field trip," so being the inhibited person that I am, I kinda just...walked discreetly, clambered up a ladder, down a rope, up a flight of stairs (to the tunnel slides), slid down the tunnel slide... Then made my way to my favorite playground pasttime~the swings. XD (Well, actually, second favorite-my favorite being seesaws, but there seems to be a dearth of those on American playgrounds.)
...ok, so I still played, but I wasn't running around and acting out a story on the spot (you have no idea how conducive to spy stories those wooden fortress things are), so it was still a more inhibited form of play.^^; But anyway, it was at the swings that I got my dose of cute for the day. Since I already described it all to Majo online, I figure I'd just post the conversation, to ease my poor wrists.^^;;
Yayoi KH: And I've decided. Rin is six. *nod nod*
Yayoi KH: ...cuz you know what happened?^^; I was swinging on the swing set....
Yayoi KH: And this little girl with blond hair came and asked me if I was a kid or a grown up.^^;;;
Yayoi KH: And I was like, "I'm a grown up."
Yayoi KH: And she asked me if I could help her get started on the swing.^^;;;
Majodono: How cute!^^
Yayoi KH: Then she wouldn't stop talking.^^;;; I now know that this random little girl has a dog named Mikie, that her father has 4 sisters, that she had an aunt named Phyllis who died before she was born so she "didn't know her", that her parents are actually divorced, that she has an older sister who's 15....^^;;;
Yayoi KH: And meanwhile we're swinging along on the swing sets (cuz I got back on mine, since she insisted she could continue swinging on her own w/o help)...^^;
Yayoi KH: And she asked for my age, right, and I'm like, "19" and she goes, "That's a kid's age!" So I'm like, "Well, I'm a big kid..."
Majodono: *dies of cuteness*
Yayoi KH: LOL
Majodono: (‹LS› How old are you? ‹A›......2598. ‹LS›......wow. You're old. ‹A›^^;;;;;;;;; )
Yayoi KH: LOL
Majodono: it's cute.^^;
Yayoi KH: Yeah^^
Majodono: so you found out that she's 6?^^;
Yayoi KH: Then I couldn't just *leave* her...since she wanted me to follow her so she could "sell me ice cream."^^;;
Yayoi KH: Yeah, she told me she was 6.^^; Cuz I asked...
Majodono: sell you ice cream?^^;
Yayoi KH: Yeah^^;; There was one part of the playground for *really* little kids that was set up to be...kinda like an ice cream shop...^^;
Yayoi KH: Cuz it has shop windows and ice cream cones drawn on the inside.^^;
Majodono: *lol*
Majodono: wai^^ How cute.
Yayoi KH: Yeah, it was really cute.^^
Yayoi KH: Except I'm terrible with kids, so I'm like, "Errrr....yes. *nod nod nod* Oh really? *nod nod*"
*snicker* Yeah.^^; So of course, us writers take every single real-life experience and relate it to the stories we're currently working on. I am now convinced that Rin is 6, because obviously 6 year olds can process information enough to say the things she says in the series. And the "A" in the conversation is "Amatsu." LS is someone else.^^; Don't worry about it.^_~
Kids really are very cute. I love watching them (er, literally just watching. From a safe distance. I would make the worst babysitter in the world), but I honestly feel I don't have the patience for them.^^; Plus it's wrong to think all kids are cute. Some are little devils-in-training. Like that little girl today? She tried to go see what a bunch of other little girls were doing, and they were all like, ">_< Go away! Go away! *shove shove*" They probably don't know any better, but all that really means is that they're more honest. When you're older, you're taught to be polite, and polite means you don't tell people to shove it even when it's what you're thinking. *shrug* So, a dose of cuteness, and a dose of reality. It all balances out.^^;
And (totally OT) tonight I get to see Mingi! XD Wahahahaha! The joy of seeing old friends makes me giddy. XD XD XD
On another OT note, since it came up on IM. There are no GODS in Troy!!! This is freakin' blasphemy! The gods practically run the entire darned thing, and how DARE the Times magazine diss both the Illiad and the gods (by calling them boring)?! Sorry, Mr. Bloom, not going to watch your second big movie venture. I am boycotting the movie on behalf of the gods. You suck, Troy movie producers. Why deny us the magic??

RAWR!!! My net is down along with everyone else's and I don't need this crap now and this probably won't even show up because my net is down and RAWWWWWRRR!!!!
Feel my wrath!
**edit** The only reason this is showing up is because the net is crazy and tempermental. **end edit**
**second edit** The net appears to work! XD XD And now I get to discuss SR story stuff (from the very, very beginning which had a dearth of actual writing...until now) with Majo! XD Aaaah...life is beautiful. <--so incredibly bound to the computer, it's scary.
Datte datte, writing is (half) my life! And I have to type out the stuff I write! So the computer is totally and completely necessary, and makes up (half) my life! XD
....I think I'm incoherent because I'm distracted by AIM. And crazy crazy story timelines.@_@ Man, this thing's confusing! But I kinda like it that way.^^;;;

...wakaran
I really don't understand it.@_@ How can there be a 29 buck deviation between my handwritten records of my checking vs. the online records? It DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!
Right. In other news, got a thing of milk tea (a thing=a cup, a container, a piece of environmentally unsound plastic...) and am kicking back my feet to enjoy it, except there's really no room to kick back my feet, so actually I'm just...sitting.
Feeling mellow and inadequate. Yes, inadequate. I get that way sometimes, you know, kinda whine whine why do I suck at my hobbies so much whine whine nobody ever reads this (despite ample evidence to the contrary) and MAN, I am just so annoying. And why is it so dark in my room?? *pulls up the shades*
Ah...better.^^; And guess what?

My life is rated G.
What is your life rated?
...why am I not surprised?^^;; This is the girl who threw a total and complete fit cuz some guy mooned her (and the...er, intended target wasn't even me, twas some guy behind me on the stairs) back in high school, man.
...there's a wasp climbing around on the window screen. Fortunately it's the other side of the window screen. Fascinating. I wonder what it wants?
Ok, that's enough nonsense out of me for today. I'll move onto some...less nonsensical stuff. Er...*thinks* Well, really nervous about Saturday (that's when I'll be heading to Indiana for 2 months of research with cowbirds), because I honestly don't know what to expect. I'm worried that I'll mess up or say stupid things or heaven forbid, kill a cowbird.@_@ It's just...intimidating.^^; I want to do this for the rest of my life, you know, so it'd be good not to mess up. :p In terms of writing...I'm always plugging away at SR (they're back to #1 priority again, the fickleness of muses), the immortals are taking another break, and Sesshoumaru and Rin are fortunately still lurking.^^

Home sweet and dirty home
It's a pigsty here. *head go swirly*
Yeah...brain hurts, head hurts...though it's not really hurting, it just feels really foggy.@_@ Finished transferring my stuff from the car to the house, and now my room is a disaster area. It really tells you what my priorities are when I make a beeline for the computer and replace the ethernet card with the wireless one.
GOT MY HANDS ON MY MALOKI MANGA AND MY HERO VCDS!!! XD XD XD
Mwahaha, spent all night reading MaLoki. My love for that series grows exponentially with each turn of the page. The funny thing is sometimes her (Kinoshita-sensei) storytelling is...really abrupt and...kinda unclear?0_o; But I just go into raptures seeing the Norse gods blundering around acting like a bunch of crazies.^^; Thor is so much cooler in the manga, his part is SO tiny in the anime. What's really cool is that Kinoshita-sensei puts a lot more attention on the friendship between Thor and Loki. XD
**START SPOILERS**
Loki: So why didn't you kill me? You had so many chances.
Thor: *looks embarrassed, then kinda self-deprecating* Yeah, well...you're a friend.
And another scene~Loki's leg gets cut and Thor has to carry him home.
Loki: *depressed* ...how do you think I'll turn out...?
Thor:...well, whatever happens, I'm gonna be right there, seeing it through with you.
SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!! <--inserted by self, not the MaLoki cast
**END SPOILERS**
And (a certain witch will be happy to hear) Freyr is also a lot cooler in the manga! XD His part is bigger and he appears more often. I mean...ok, the guy's still a goof, but *SPOILER!!* somebody's rune magic is even more powerful than Loki's! XD (Well, when he's serious...) *END SPOILER*
Heimdall's also a lot less angsty, which is a nice change.^^ In fact the manga in general is more lighthearted than the anime, which kinda just took all the angsty parts of the manga, dragged it out with some changes, and stuck it all together.0_o
Ok, will stop talking about MaLoki now... I got Black Cat too! XD Dang, I'm so nonsensical. I blame the worsening head-fuzziness. *SWIRLY...@___@*
